Oh Ms. Spears, you confused and frightening thing, this is not your kind of town.
Your lyricists, publicists, record co. execs, lawyers, financial advisers – it's more like their kind of town. A place for entertainment industry people, but not faces.
It's low-key here, and we like it.
The celebs we get here play on cable, or they are team guys who don't draw too much of a spotlight when they're off the clock. (Newport takes guys like Kobe and Rodman. Worth a look!)
If you're going to be a celeb in a small town, you want to know you can go get coffee without a media frenzy. We've got that. Or take the kids to the park – or, hey, the pumpkin races – and be anonymous. That's our style.
It's a family town, Britney, and you're still sort of working on the family part. Guess what? The home doesn't make the family. It works the other way around.
If you go and snap up some majestic Strand house, or a garish Hill Section lair, you're going to ruin things for your neighbors – who, we might note, will be between 6 and 12 feet away from you. (We don't do "gated" or "estates.")
Yes, we're sure you're a willing buyer with cash (albeit with an agenda, too), but we'd really ask that you look farther and wider.

I was in Marina Del Rey 2 weeks ago at the highrise condo complex on Lincoln meeting a client. There were about 10 camera crews near the entrance. On my way out I asked a couple of them that were standing together what was up. They told Britney Spears was there house hunting. I asked is this how things normally are around Ms. Spears? They said, yes, 24/7 around the clock and sometimes a helicopter or 2 also. Oh boy, I can hardly wait.

If you think about it, if she really wants to be left alone it is a good move. Certainly neighbors and law enforcement won't put up with the circus in MB. However, she would be devastated if the paparazzi disappeared one day so I don't think it's going to happen and/or it will be short lived.
with all your market knowledge, I'm surprised you haven't mentioned the new 7.2m sale in the Hill Section - being on a corner, it would be the perfect paparazzi hang-out

Why would she want the school system? I would just assume she would want private schools for her beloved children... The westside has so many more offerings for her. Please stay away!!!

I live in Marina Del Rey but spend most my weekends in Mahattan Beach (my husband and I go to church there and we love the peace and quite). I would absolutely hate to see it ruined by a "pop star" and her gang of vultures. Also, I would be concerned for the safety of everyone... you know shutterbugs do not care who they run over, and Ms Spears herself has hit a few cars (both drunk and sober) and left the scene herself.
There goes the neighborhood! I am trying to imagine something more horrifying than this but am drawing a blank. Of course, the ultimate nightmare is she ends up as my next door neighbor!

As a Manhattan Beach resident who has raised a family here for 16 years, I am appalled by all of these uptight and narrow-minded people trying to keep Britney Spears out of Manhattan Beach. Britney has problems right now, as many people do at certain times in their life. We didn’t seem to mind her while she was entertaining our children as well as ourselves for so many years, and now everyone is kicking her while she is down. Three years ago no one would have minded her living here when she had a squeaky clean image. Remember, the public has caused a lot of her issues. Instead of being cruel and furthering her problems we could welcome her with open arms into our community. Give this poor girl a break
Until she moves next door to you, has paparrazi in your bushes 24/7, she gets into her car while on crack and runs into your mailbox, and has multiple men coming into her house at all hours, setting a great example for all the children on your street to emulate. Yeah, we need more of those types of role models here in MB.

get real people, why should anyone re-consider a home they fall in love with, just incase they might ruffle some neighbours feathers?......stop blaming the individual and start demanding laws to be put in place regarding paparazzi, from your local governers......
